Outdoor Adventure Trip

May 4th-5th

Join us for a one-night, two-day trip to Mississippi Palisades State Park. Participants will learn outdoor skills including campfire cooking, plant identification, bird identification, and more. Spring migration and spring wildflowers will be in full swing this time of year, making it the perfect weekend trip. A campfire meal will be prepared including dessert. 

About the park: The Mississippi Palisades is home to picturesque bluffs and a view of the Mississippi River. This 2,500 acre park is located near the confluence of the Mississippi and Apple River. The park features deep ravines dotted with ferns and woodland hillsides featuring trilliums, bluebells, shooting stars and ferns.

Transportation is not included. Participants will need to bring a tent, sleeping bag, mess kit, and personal amenities. Need to borrow a tent? Let us know and we can help you out.  

A pre-trip meeting will be held on Friday April 26th from 5:00-6:00 pm at Nahant Marsh Education Center. Before the trip, participants will meet at Nahant Marsh at 9:00 Saturday  May 5th to caravan to the park.Saturday and Sunday morning will be spent exploring the park with a return to the Quad Cities around 12:00pm on Sunday afternoon.
