A series of fun and informal forays led by mushroom expert Joshua Shomo focused on finding and identifying common mushrooms in our area with information about habitat, seasonality, and key identifying features of edible, interesting, and dangerous mushrooms and fungi. Forays will be conducted outside in various habitats and weather conditions. Participants should be dressed for the weather and conditions. Helpful items to bring along include bug spray for mosquitos and ticks, a pocketknife, a camera (or smartphone), and a walking stick if desired. Collection baskets will be provided but bring your own if it suits you.
When registering, you can choose from either the 9AM - 11AM session, or the 12PM - 2PM session.
